Ciao friend,
It's easy to get lost in the noise of the fitness world – the trends, the diets, the promises of instant results. But I've been thinking about something much more fundamental: shouldn't being fit be a basic human right?
This isn't just a catchy phrase; it's the core idea behind the "Being Fit is a Human Right" campaign. It's about recognising that access to movement, to health, shouldn't be determined by your postcode or your bank balance. It's about everyone having the opportunity to experience what their body is truly capable of.
And it's not just about what we do in the gym (or outside it). It's also about what we don't do. I'm talking about fasting. I've personally found that incorporating intermittent fasting (16-hour daily fasts) and occasional longer fasts (24-48 hours) has had a profound impact on my energy levels, mental clarity, and overall well-being. It's about working with my body's natural rhythms, not against them.
CONSTANT CLARITY
- Fitness is Freedom: The ability to move freely, to feel strong, to be healthy – that's a fundamental freedom we should all have access to.
- Productivity is Powered by Physicality: Your physical state is the engine that drives your mental output.
- Longevity is Proactive: We build long-term health through consistent, daily actions – and sometimes, inaction (like fasting).

THINGS I'VE LEARNED
- Fasting Isn't Deprivation; It's Empowerment: My personal experience with fasting has shown me that it's not about restriction; it's about giving my body a chance to reset and repair.
"The best of all medicines is resting and fasting." - Benjamin Franklin
- Fitness is a Foundation, Not a Finish Line: It's not about achieving some arbitrary ideal; it's about building a sustainable foundation for a healthier, more fulfilling life.
WEEKLY LONGEVITY BOOST
This week, focus on hydration. Aim to drink at least 2 litres of water throughout the day. Proper hydration is crucial for everything from energy levels to joint health, and it's often overlooked. Carry a water bottle with you and sip consistently.
LIFE HACK
The "5-Minute Rule" for Procrastination: Feeling stuck on a task? Commit to working on it for just five minutes. Often, the hardest part is getting started. After five minutes, you'll likely find you have enough momentum to keep going.
Have an amazing day, and to all my Muslim friends observing Ramadan, Ramadan Mubarak! May this month bring you peace, reflection, and blessings.

P.S. This isn't just about getting fit; it's about building a more equitable world. Thanks for being part of the conversation.
